A Fusion of Futurism and Immersive Experience | Guangzhou Esports Hotel Design Analysis
As esports evolves beyond a purely functional space into a lifestyle that integrates social interaction, leisure, and immersive experiences, spatial design takes on a more complex role. Designed by Simba, this esports hotel in Guangzhou is built around the concept of “technology × atmosphere.” Through a precise orchestration of materials, lighting, and circulation, it creates a new experiential environment that is both futuristic and comfortably livable.
Lobby
The lobby contrasts expansive blank surfaces with artistic installations: a curved ceiling and circular light bands outline a soft spatial form, while geometric black-and-white patterned flooring enhances visual tension.
A central enclosed seating area redefines the traditional reception model, resembling a social living room. On the right, a full display wall showcases models and collectibles within a metal mesh structure, evoking a “future exhibition hall” atmosphere.
A minimalist fireplace embedded in a white wall introduces a subtle warmth within the otherwise cool setting.

Single Room
The single room adopts a dark gray and black palette, creating a focused esports atmosphere. The feature wall uses matte dark finishes, with hidden lighting producing a soft halo effect that adds depth.
A low-profile bed with a floating headboard lowers the visual center of gravity, enhancing spatial stability. The gaming setup is positioned by the window, where city lights at night create a unique immersive backdrop.

Single Room Bathroom
The bathroom features glass partitions with black metal frames, maintaining transparency while ensuring wet and dry separation. Dark finishes and microcement textures dominate the surfaces, paired with minimalist fixtures for a clean, restrained look. Lighting combines overhead spotlights and side wall-washing illumination to enhance spatial layering.

Single Room Vanity Area
Color becomes a defining feature here—the vanity area stands out with high-saturation blue-green tiles across walls and countertops. A floating vanity with open storage below is accentuated by hidden lighting. Mirrors and linear lighting work together to visually expand the narrow space while reinforcing a strong “tech aesthetic.”

Custom Double Room
This room breaks conventional layouts through a “split-level” structure: the upper level serves as the resting area, while the lower level extends into an additional sleeping space, creating a capsule-like experience. Warm lighting embedded beneath the bed enhances a floating effect. Side steps function both practically and rhythmically. The gaming and resting areas are arranged side by side, allowing social and private spaces to coexist naturally.

Custom Double Room Bathroom
Dark stone textures combined with warm lighting create a refined atmosphere. Circular mirrors contrast with linear lighting, balancing softness with structural clarity. Storage, washing, and changing functions are integrated into a single wall, forming a compact yet efficient layout typical of high-performance hotel design.

Corridor
The corridor emphasizes a sense of rhythm. Continuous wall lighting and room-number lights form a repeating sequence, guiding the eye forward. Dark walls contrast sharply with warm lighting, creating a quiet yet ceremonial atmosphere. Soft flooring materials improve acoustic comfort, enhancing the overall experience.

Standard Double Room
The room adopts a symmetrical layout with two beds spaced appropriately to balance social interaction and personal privacy. The feature wall combines red and gray tones, softened by linear lighting to add depth. The gaming area is positioned to one side, clearly separating it from the rest zone.

Standard Double Room Bathroom
The bathroom continues the combination of warm lighting and dark materials. Subtle textures on walls and floors enhance quality, while glass partitions maintain visual consistency and functional clarity.

Four-Person Room
Organized around “parallel gaming stations + bunk beds,” the room features a full gaming wall that becomes a strong visual focal point through lighting and screens.
Built-in bunk beds with hidden lighting keep the space clean and cohesive. A central leisure table supports social interaction beyond gaming.

Four-Person Room Bathroom
The bathroom maintains the overall design language, contrasting black-framed glass with lighter walls. Linear lighting remains the dominant element, clearly defining functional zones.

Five-Person Room
More diverse in function, the five-person room integrates gaming stations, bunk beds, and a leisure/game table area.
Glossy black flooring combined with blue lighting creates a strong futuristic aesthetic. Zoning is achieved through furniture arrangement rather than partitions, allowing flexible use.

Five-Person Room Bathroom
The bathroom uses brighter light-colored tiles to differentiate from public areas. Vertical textures enhance the sense of height, while black fixtures create a sharp contrast. Clear wet-dry separation ensures efficiency and simplicity, meeting high-frequency usage needs.

A New Possibility for Esports Spaces
This Guangzhou esports hotel is not merely a combination of “equipment + rooms,” but a comprehensive spatial experience design. From the artistic atmosphere of the lobby, to the immersive guest rooms, to the emotional control of corridors and details—every element reinforces a single core idea:
to immerse visitors in a complete world dedicated to esports.
